Welcome To Brookside
The Writer’s Studio: Amy Powers
Amy Powers, a book author and songwriter, needed a workspace that feels as inspired as her work. We refinished the hardwood floors, painted the walls a soft, bright white and placed the furniture so the desk invites focus. Custom magenta drapery frames the room with bold color and warmth.

This room tells this family story
Amy Powers and her family use it to showcase a lifetime of creative work, from songwriting and music production to film stage, photography and family photos. Every wall and surface was designed to honor those accomplishments while still feeling warm, personal, and lived in.
Demann Crawford Designs refreshed the space with a new paint palette, custom draperies, and reupholstery that brings new life to cherished pieces. At the center is the chaise lounge, a place to relax, reflect, and dream about what comes next.

Living life beatifully in Owings Mills.
Dining Room In Owings Mills, Maryland
For Vernā Myers, who built a career on making every person feel welcome at the table, we designed a dining room that opens outward. The leaded-glass windows frame the green view outside, and the palm-leaf rug carries it into the room. Custom black-and-white draperies add a crisp, tailored finish. Bird and botanical artwork, a sculptural globe chandelier, gilded lamps and green-and-white ginger jars add layers without crowding the space. It’s a room made for gathering, where everyone is invited and everyone belongs.
Great Room With Global Soul
The great room, a deep brown velvet sofa with custom pillows sits across from a pair of iconic Barcelona chairs. A bold black-and-cream rug and sculptural gold tables tie it together against dramatic black-paneled walls. The furniture refresh was sourced and styled by Demann Crawford Designs.
That Speaks to You
African-inspired masks and a striking sculpted wood piece bring a sense of story and heritage to the room. A chartreuse chair with black piping, finished with a pillow designed and styled by Demann Crawford, adds a confident pop of color. It’s a space that reflects who she is.
Owings Mills
The old is now new
When Vernā Myers moved into her Owings Mills home, the previous owners left this furniture behind. Instead of replacing it, we gave it new life with custom upholstery. The sofa is covered in a distinctive patterned fabric with an African feel, and layered pillows and a graphic rug carry the theme through the room. Chartreuse chairs with black piping add energy, and as always, the finishing touch is a signature orchid.
